Assemblywoman Caucus Chair Michaelle Solages Releases Statement Supporting Governor Hochul’s SNAP Funding Initiative
“Throughout the state, people rely on food assistance programs such as SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) to ease the financial burdens they face when shopping for food and groceries. As we continue to watch inflation rise and affordability decline, it is important that we work together to ensure that New Yorkers will still be able to purchase the food they need while staying within their budget. These flippant federal budget cuts will force three million Americans to find another way to put food on the table while dealing with the rising cost of living. Governor Hochul understands the importance of creating a safety net in the face of such irresponsible actions to make sure that New Yorkers aren’t going to bed hungry. The Caucus is in full support of the Governor’s decision to fast track 30 million in state funds for emergency food assistance programs.”
